The New York Jets’ introductory press conference for head coach Adam Gase went viral on social media on Monday, but not for any positive, football-related reasons.

Gase spoke about his experience in Miami and about how excited he is to be able to develop a young quarterback like Sam Darnold. The only problem was that a lot of people weren’t paying attention to what was coming out of his mouth, they were too busy looking at his eyes.

The 40-year-old’s eyes seemed to have a mind of their own as he was sitting in front of the microphone.

As expected, Twitter made their jokes, and they made them well. Here are some of the funniest reactions to Gase’s rogue eyeballs.

Even the picture with the Jets legends didn't come out as Gase would have hoped.

And of course, before the press conference was even over someone had started up a Twitter account parodying Gase's eyes.

Never change internet, never change.

It's safe to say this isn't what the Jets were hoping the discussion would be about after showing off their new coach.
