Amy Cole Shows Off Knee-Buckling Breaking Ball in Catch with Gerrit

Gerrit Cole might have the best fastball and slider in the majors, but if a recent video of his wife, Amy, is any indication, he may be faced with some competition at home.

Rob Friedman, who has come to Twitter fame as the Pitching Ninja, posted this #StayAtHome special, showing off Amy's chops from the mound.

The velocity on that second fastball! Wow. And the movement on that slider?

Amy, like Gerrit, played ball at UCLA, finishing her career as a utility player in 2011. She also has baseball in her blood, as her brother Brandon is the well known two-time All-Star shortstop for the San Francisco Giants.

This isn't the first we've seen of Amy's abilities, either, as she posted a video of Gerrit tossing her some BP back in 2017.

Having the pair of Brandon Crawford and Gerrit Cole available for a catch at all times? You've got to be pretty lucky in order to have that luxury.

However, the same goes for the flipside. Who knows if Crawford would have become half the ballplayer he is today if he hadn't grown up with a sister who was always there to get some throws in? Who knows if Cole would have become the most dominant pitcher in the league -- and gotten some catching reps in, too -- without Amy there to support him?

Maybe Amy Crawford Cole is the hidden hero behind some of MLB's biggest stars.
