Mat Barzal, Artemi Panarin and Kyle Palmieri are bound for St. Louis, Mo.
The trio — representing the Islanders, Rangers and Devils respectively — was named to the 2020 All-Star Game, where they'll play for the Metropolitan Division. For Barzal and Palmieri, it's the second straight season where they've been selected to participate in the annual event.
Panarin, however, is a newcomer to the event.
He'd never been awarded a spot on any All Star roster since he arrived in the league in 2015. He'd notably been snubbed throughout his time with the Blackhawks and Blue Jackets in recent years. Panarin made a statement during his first season with the Rangers, where he's recorded 51 points — 21 goals, 30 assists — since he signed his massive seven-year, $81.5 million contract during the offseason.
His 44 assists leads all Islanders and he's tied for fifth in goals (18). Barzal, who made his All Star debut last year, tallied 33 points in 37 games this season. Brock Nelson is a candidate to join Barzal on the "Last Men In" Ballot.
If star forward Taylor Hall hadn't been traded to Arizona, there would have been a debate on which member of the Devils would be an All Star.
Palmieri leads the Devils with 27 points and 15 goals in his fifth season with the team. Last year, the New York native participated in his first All-Star Game, filling in for Hall, who was sidelined with an injury.
The NHL All-Star Weekend is set to begin on Jan. 25.
