In CC Sabathia's mind, his end game will be in the Fall Classic.
The 37-year-old left-hander told the New York Post that he will retire if the Yankees win the World Series this season.
"I want one more parade and pretty sure that will be it,'' Sabathia told the newspaper. "I thought I had it last year.''
Sabathia was with the Yankees in 2009, when they last won it all. He said he's hungry to experience that feeling one more time before calling it a career.
"It feels like 20 seasons [ago],'' Sabathia said of '09. "That's all you play for.''
It's not clear what Sabathia's plans might be if the Yankees fall short, like they did last season when they lost to the Houston Astros in seven games in the American League Championship Series.

After his contract expired, the Yankees signed Sabathia to a one-year, $10 million deal in December. Through six starts this year, he is 2-0 with a 1.39 ERA, 23 strikeouts and just five walks.
Once he does retire, the six-time All-Star and 2007 Cy Young winner will have a solid case for the Hall of Fame, although he's certainly not a shoo-in. His 239 wins are more than Hall of Famers Whitey Ford, Catfish Hunter and Pedro Martinez, to name a few, and his strikeout total compares favorably as well. But his 3.68 career ERA would the fourth highest of any pitcher in Cooperstown.
The Yankees are 24-10 and have won 15 of their last 16 games. They trail the Red Sox by one game in the AL East. The Bombers and Boston open a three-game series at Yankee Stadium on Tuesday.
