Couple That Met After WFAN Morning Show Retweet Gets Engaged

Little did Heather Golden know that the tweet she was about to send five years ago would change her life — with an assist from WFAN's morning show.

A Jets fan, Heather posted on Twitter on Dec. 19, 2014: "Completely not emotionally prepared for the last ever Rex Ryan edition of #BeatTomBrady." She tagged WFAN's morning show, which retweeted the comment.

That got the attention of Mike Goldstein, who started following Heather on Twitter. From there, they participated in some back-and-forth banter on the social network, the start of a courtship that led to Mike proposing this week in the Catskills. Heather, of course, said yes.

"Big thanks to the man behind the show account @Alsboringtweets," Heather wrote on Twitter, referring to "Boomer and Gio" producer Al Dukes. "Local hero (and matchmaker)."

An actual Twitter love story. @Mikey_Golds and I crossed paths years ago thanks to a RT from @WFANmornings. Fast forward to today — we're engaged. Big thanks to the man behind the show account @Alsboringtweets. Local hero (and matchmaker). pic.twitter.com/WkxXJmdAme

Dukes, the unwitting Cupid in this love story, wondered if the tweet will have a starring role in the wedding.

Will that be printed on a board and displayed at the wedding?

The couple hasn't set a date yet -- sometime in 2021, Heather says. Mike says the morning crew should be expecting invitations in the mail.

We have a min. So you guys will def get an invite. Ps we already have a soda stream

A side note: Heather and Mike's first date also had a WFAN connection. It was to the "Mike and the Mad Dog" reunion show at Radio City Music Hall in March 2016. They finally settled down in a relationship later that year.

"From there, things have been awesome," Heather told WFAN.com in an email. "Our mutual love of NY sports (and sports talk) helped us meet & is still part of the glue of our everyday lives."

Congratulations, Heather and Mike!
