Devils Re-Sign Will Butcher On 3-Year Deal

The Devils on Wednesday re-signed Will Butcher, avoiding arbirtation with the 24-year-old defenseman.

The three-deal is worth $11.2 million. Butcher was a restricted free agent. He and the Devils had a salary arbitration hearing scheduled for Friday, but that is now no longer needed.

In his first two NHL seasons, Butcher has skated in 159 games and registered nine goals and 65 assists. Last season, he had four goals and 26 assists.
