WATCH: DJ LeMahieu Hits Yankees' First Home Run Of Postseason

DJ LeMahieu is fresh off a stellar regular season with the Yankees.

LeMahieu set a career high in hits, RBIs and home runs in his first season in New York. He had no trouble translating his success at the plate into the postseason. During the bottom of the sixth inning, LeMahieu delivered Cody Stashak's pitch into the bullpen in left field for the Yankees' first home run of the playoffs.

For the nine-year veteran playing in his fourth postseason, it was his first career playoff home run. He later cleared the bases with his seventh inning three-run double, furthering the Yankees' lead.

LeMahieu's standout season is even more surreal to imagine as the Yankees signed the infielder to a two-year, $24 million contract earlier this year. Once one of the most overlooked players on the free agency market, LeMahieu delivered as cushioned New York's two-run lead. LeMahieu, a former Gold Glove recipient, did have a moment to forget when he dropped a routine pop-up in the second inning.

The massive 426-foot home run served as a catalyst for the Yankees' lineup. Two batters later, Outfielder Brett Gardner won his battle with Stashak — hitting the Yankees' second home run of the inning.
