The Jets took their first stab at fixing their woeful offensive line Monday, reportedly agreeing to terms with former Seahawks offensive tackle George Fant.

According to ESPN, Fant will sign a three-year, $30 million deal with the Jets that includes $13.7 million guaranteed. The Jets view Fant, 27, as a left tackle who can move to the right side if needed, WFAN's Brian Costello reported.

The 6-foot-5, 322-pound Fant is a former basketball player at Western Kentucky who played just one year of college football as a tight end -- appearing in only two games -- before being signed as an undrafted free agent by Seattle in 2016. He played in 46 games with the Seahawks and made 24 starts, seven of them last season.

The Jets entered the offseason needing to overhaul their offensive line. Last season, Gang Green ranked 31st in rushing yards per game (78.6) and tied for last in yards per carry (3.3). The Jets also allowed 52 sacks, fourth most in the NFL.

The first day of the NFL's legal tampering period saw some of the top offensive linemen quickly snatched up. Former Titans tackle Jack Conklin agreed to terms with the Browns, and ex-Lions center Graham Glasgow is signing with the Broncos. Meanwhile, the Patriots placed the franchise tag on guard Joe Thuney, preventing him from hitting the open market.
