Jerry Rice used to practice catching bricks. Herschel Walker and Lynn Swann did ballet. Daniel-san waxed on and waxed off.
Giancarlo Stanton is the latest athlete to engage in an unusual workout. His method? Bench-pressing supermodel Adriana Lima.
Kirk Myers, founder of the Dogpound personal training company, posted a video on Instagram this week showing Stanton repeatedly lifting the Brazlian beauty, who just so happens to be former Met Matt Harvey's ex.

In another video from Myers, the Yankees slugger smashes a sledgehammer into a large tire over and over again.
Stanton is trying to bounce back from an injury-plagued 2019 season in which knee, biceps, shoulder and calf injuries limited him to 18 regular-seaon games. The former National League MVP and two-time home run champ returned for the playoffs but then a quad strain knocked him out for four of the six ALCS games against the Astros.
The Yankees' first full-squad workout of spring training is Feb. 18. We suspect supermodels won't be part of the regimen there.
