The Giants are doubling down on offensive tackles.
After selecting Andrew Thomas out of Georgia with the fourth overall pick in the draft on Thursday, the Giants took yet another offensive tackle in UConn's Matt Peart with the 99th pick — a compensatory pick for not re-signing Landon Collins last offseason — on Thursday.
Peart, who grew up in The Bronx, stands at 6-foot-6 and 318 pounds and was First Team All-AAC at UConn last season.
General manager has been adamant about fixing the offensive line, and while Thomas and Nate Solder figure to be the starting tackles, Gettleman's philosophy is to build through the trenches and Peart adds some more depth and could potentially develop into a starter in the future.
