The Giants have made a change at running back after their loss to the Patriots.
Jonathan Hilliman started Thursday night in the 35-14 loss in New England, but Hilliman has now been let go after a subpar performance. The team announced his release and the subsequent signing of Javorius Allen to replace him.

— New York Giants (@Giants) October 11, 2019Allen will now get a shot to be the team's feature back while Saquon Barkley and Wayne Gallman remain out injured. Barkley's status for Sunday is uncertain as he recovers from a high ankle sprain. Gallman has a concussion.
Hilliman carried the ball 11 times for 38 yards, but he also lost a fumble that was returned by Kyle Van Noy for a touchdown in the fourth quarter. He was a member of the Giants practice squad before he was called up to the active roster following the injury to Barkley.
Allen was last a member of the Saints. He signed with New Orleans in May, but never played for the team and was eventually released in August. The 28-year-old initially came into the league as a fourth round pick of the Ravens. He then spent three years in Baltimore.
He'll certainly get his chance to impress in the Giants backfield with the two main guys still unavailable.
