Islanders defenseman Adam Pelech will miss the rest of the regular season with an Achilles tendon injury, the team announced Friday.

Pelech suffered the injury before the Islanders' game Thursday night against the Devils. Sebastian Aho has been recalled from AHL Bridgeport to fill his roster spot.

In his fifth season, Pelech, 25, registered one goal and eight assists this season. He had played in all of New York's 38 games before Tuesday's 2-1 loss to New Jersey.
