When Landon Collins inked a six-year, $84 million deal with Washington, the Giants quickly acquired Jabrill Peppers to replace the departed safety.

Collins faced his former team for the first time Sunday, when Peppers and the Giants' defense smothered quarterbacks Dwayne Haskins and Case Keenum. New York tallied four interceptions in the 24-3 win, including Peppers' first-career pick-six

Following the game, Peppers and Collins were involved in a skirmish when handshakes and pleasantries were being exchanged between the two teams. Multiple players from both sides were involved, doing their part to de-escalate the situation.

Peppers played the altercation off, telling reporters after the game that "it's just football," according to ESPN's Jordan Raanan. Collins, who spent four seasons with New York, opted for the "next question" response and wouldn't reveal what was said on the field.

"I was happy for him," Collins said, via The New York Daily News' Pat Leonard. "He had a good game. But for him to come start messing with me, that wasn’t the point."

Peppers chose to wear Collins' old No. 21 when he joined the Giants, but there's no indication what set off the postgame altercation.

It was an impressive outing for the Giants' defense, limiting Redskins QBs to 121 yards passing and making Washington's run game virtually non-existent. Adrian Peterson led the team with 28 yards on 11 carries while three different Giants recorded an interception.

After losing its first two games, New York has won two straight. The team hosts Minnesota next week in an effort to extend its winning streak.
