Jamal Adams was furious last month when the NFL slapped him with a $21,000 fine for a hit on Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield.
The Jets safety apparently made a compelling case to the league, as appeals officer Derrick Brooks has rescinded the fine, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported Thursday.
The play in question happened in the first quarter of the Browns' 23-3 Week 2 win at MetLife Stadium. In the Monday night game, Mayfield rolled out to his left and was hit in the arm and chest by Adams just after throwing the ball downfield. Adams was flagged for roughing the passer and broke the news about the fine himself on social media later in the week.
