Jeff McNeil has the Mets on a tear.
Yes, the 2020 MLB season is currently suspended, but McNeil is representing the Mets in an "MLB The Show" Players League — in which a player from each team is competing in a mini season via the popular video game.
The season began on April 11 and the Mets All-Star infielder is showing that he does not just excel at baseball in real life, but virtually too.
McNeil improved to 6-2 on Tuesday night, going 3-1 with wins over Jon Duplantier of the Diamondbacks, Amir Garrett of the Reds and Lance McCullers Jr. of the Astros, which has himself atop the NL East.
There was even a funny moment between McNeil and Garrett during their game, which was livestreamed.
McNeil accidentally threw the ball to second base instead of first on a dropped third strike with two outs, leading to some epic trash talk from Garrett.
Garrett then hit a RBI double to take a 1-0 lead on the next pitch and continued his trash talk to McNeil, but amid all this, Garrett made a blunder of his own on the bases as he got caught in a pickle and thrown out at home plate to end the inning.

Meanwhile, the other New York team is not doing too hot in the Players League. Tommy Kahnle is representing the Yankees, but sits in dead last in the AL East with an 0-4 record at this point.
