The Jets are heading to Baltimore Thursday night to face Lamar Jackson and the Ravens on a short week. Slowing down the dynamic quarterback is no easy task and the Jets will likely have to do so without their best defensive player, Jamal Adams.
Adams, who considered himself a game time decision as of Tuesday, has been listed as doubtful and appears likely to miss his second consecutive game. The Jets star safety suffered a sprained ankle during their Week 13 loss to the Bengals.
In addition to Adams, Jets rookie defensive lineman Quinnen Williams is also listed as doubtful ahead of the team's Thursday night contest. A neck stinger against the Dolphins last week forced Williams to make an early exit. Before the injury, Williams was playing one of his better games in what has been a disappointing rookie season overall.
Slot cornerback Brian Poole is officially listed as out. Poole will miss his second straight game after leaving the Bengals game with a concussion.
On the offensive side of the ball, wide-receiver Demaryius Thomas is doubtful with a hamstring injury. Tight Ryan Griffin and running back Bilal Powell have officially been ruled out. Griffin left last week's game against the Dolphins early because of an ankle injury, Powell is dealing with an ankle and the flu.
Running back Le'Veon Bell is expected to return after missing the Jets' victory against the Dolphins with the flu. Even though Bell's production has been limited since signing with the Jets, his importance to the team is increased with Powell being unavailable.
