The New York Jets caught at least one break on Thursday.
After head coach Adam Gase broke the news that quarterback Sam Darnold was diagnosed with mononucleosis and will miss the team's Week 2 meeting with the Cleveland Browns, Le'Veon Bell's MRI test reportedly showed no structural damage to his shoulder, according to The Athletic's Connor Hughes.
Bell was among the notable names that missed the Jets' latest practice. Gase wasn't sure about Bell's status for Monday when talking with reporters, but the latest development is a positive sign for Bell and the Jets. He was fairly busy throughout his Jets' debut. He ran for 60 yards on 17 carries and was dynamic in the passing game, catching six passes for 32 yards including his nine-yard reception in the third quarter against the Bills.

"I got great news, my shoulder is fine so no worries," Bell posted. "Just had to make sure everything was ready to go for Monday night. Let's get it."

— Le'Veon Bell (@LeVeonBell) September 12, 2019The NFL season is still in its early stage but short time on the field hasn't stopped the surpluss of Jets' injuries.
On Sept. 11, the team placed wide receiver Quincy Enunwa on injured reserve with a neck injury, the second one he's suffered in his career. C.J. Mosely, who recorded a pick-six in his Jets debut, and rookie Quinnen Williams are also progressing toward a return as well. Mosely left Sunday's contest with a groin injury and Williams was seen leaving MetLife Stadium in a walking boot after suffering an ankle sprain.
While Bell may play against Cleveland, who is seeking its first win of the season, the loss of Darnold makes Sunday's game a tall task for Gang Green to overcome.
