ORLANDO, Fla. (WFAN) -- Ndamukong Suh won't be pestering quarterbacks in a Jets uniform next season.

Team CEO Christopher Johnson told reporters Sunday at the NFL owners' meetings that the Jets have rescinded their offer to the free agent defensive tackle.

Johnson said signing Suh “didn't seem to be in keeping with our long-term plan.” He said he met with general manager Mike Maccagnan and that "our thinking just changed a bit."

On Friday, Suh told Yahoo Sports' Jordan Schultz that the Jets had emerged as a "serious contender" to sign him. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported that Gang Green had the biggest offer on the table for the former Lion and Dolphin.

The Suh sweepstakes now appear to be down to the Los Angeles Rams, New Orleans Saints and Tennessee Titans.

The Miami Dolphins released the five-time Pro Bowler earlier this month in a cost-cutting move. Suh was set to earn $17 million next season.

The second overall pick in the 2010 draft, Suh has 420 tackles and 51 1/2 sacks in his eight-year career. Last season, he registered 48 tackles and 4 1/2 sacks.

A three-time All-Pro, Suh is an elite talent, but he's also earned a reputation as a dirty player. His infamous personal fouls have included stomping on Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers' arm and kicking ex-Texans QB Matt Schaub in the groin.
