The 2019 Jets are struggling, but things haven't always been so bad.

This year's team has dealt with injuries and inconsistency as they've started the year 0-2 following defeats to the Bills and the Browns. With Sam Darnold out with mano and some tough games coming up on the schedule, it's not a terrible time to ignore the present and look back to the past.

2019 is also the NFL's 100th year. To mark the occasion, the Jets have released an all-time team of their best players, as voted on by the fans.

Darnold is the man of the moment, but it's no surprise to see who is under center. Joe Namath is the only quarterback to have delivered a Super Bowl championship, which he did in 1968 when he famously guaranteed his team's victory over the heavily favored Baltimore Colts. Vinny Testaverde might have been the runner-up.

Curtis Martin was another easy choice at running back. There are quite a few Jets from the 21st century in the team, including Martin, Nick Mangold, D'Brickashaw Ferguson, John Abraham, Leon Washington, Wayne Chrebet and more.

Darrelle Revis has a spot at cornerback, despite the fact that he had to play a season with the Patriots to finally win a Super Bowl.

Mo Lewis is in the team because he spent twelve productive years with the Jets, but he will best be remembered as the player who injured Drew Bledsoe in Week 2 of the 2001 season, making way for Tom Brady in New England.

Kevin Mawae can feel slightly aggrieved that he didn't make the roster, having just been elected to the Hall of Fame. But center is a historically strong position for the Jets. Mangold was a tremendous player as well, and he played his entire career in New York.

Unsurprisingly, no members of the current Jets team made the cut. Maybe they'll fare better 100 years from now.
