ORLANDO, Fla. (WFAN) -- John Mara insists Odell Beckham Jr. is not on the trading block, but the Giants co-owner made it clear Sunday his patience with the star wide receiver is wearing thin.
Talking to reporters at the NFL owners' meetings, Mara said he was "disappointed" with Beckham over a viral video that showed him holding what appeared to be a brown cigarette or cigar while he was in bed with an aspiring French model who had a credit card and a plate with lines of a white substance on it.
"I think too often he allows himself to get put in bad situations, and he needs to use a little better judgment. ... I don't know what was in that video exactly, but I'm tired of answering questions about Odell's behavior and what the latest incident is," Mara said, adding he has not spoken to Beckham about the video, although coach Pat Shurmur has. "I think he knows what's expected of him, and now it's up to him."
Of course, the video surfaced at a time when Beckham is expected to push for a new contract that would make him the NFL's highest-paid wide receiver. Not only does Mara sound undecided on whether to give Beckham a megacontract, he wouldn't rule out the possibility of the three-time Pro Bowler being traded.

"We're certainly not shopping him, if that's what you're asking," he said. "But when you're coming off a season where you're 3-13 and played as poorly as we played, I wouldn't say anyone's untouchable."
Mara said it's possible the Giants will try to make Beckham play on the final year of his rookie contract this season.
"I don't think we've made a determination on that just yet," he said. "In terms of the contract, that'll get done when it's supposed to get done. But again, he knows what we expect of him, and now it's up to him. And I still believe that he'll be able to show us what we expect of him, but it's up to him."
The Giants owner added that incidents such as the video are "something you certainly have to take into consideration" when deciding whether to make a long-term commitment to a player.

Mara also said he was growing frustrated with Beckham's antics before the video went viral.
Beckham also has been fined by the NFL on numerous occasions, including after a touchdown celebration last season in which he pretended to be a dog lifting its leg, which led to a face-to-face meeting with Mara.
Meanwhile, Beckham was named last week in a $15 million lawsuit filed by a man claiming he was brutally beaten by Beckham's bodyguard and another man. Beckham did not participate in the alleged fight, but he did not order security to stop, the man, Ishmael Temple, said.
In a statement, Beckham's lawyer, Daniel Daviller, called the lawsuit "frivolous."
"Even though Mr. Temple agrees that Mr. Beckham was in no way involved in the physical altercation, neither as a participate or as an instigator, he nevertheless demanded money from Mr. Beckham and has now filed a meritless suit against him," the statement read.
