When the Knicks travel to London in January to play the Washington Wizards, they might have to leave center Enes Kanter behind.
Because there is an international warrant out for Kanter's arrest and his passport has been revoked by his native Turkey, the Knicks are unsure whether Kanter will be able to travel across the Atlantic Ocean, the Daily News reported Monday.
Kanter has long been a critic of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, whom he has likened to Adolf Hitler on multiple occasions. Kanter contends, among other things, that a failed coup attempt in 2016 was actually staged by the Erdogan-led government.

In May 2017, Kanter was detained while traveling in Romania. He was able to return to the United States after American officials intervened.
Turkey has accused Kanter, 26, of being a member of a terrorist organization, and according to the country's state-run news agency, prosecutors there are seeking more than four years in prison for him on charges of insulting Erdogan.
The Knicks are scheduled to play the Wizards on Jan. 17 at The 02 Arena in London.

"We haven't talked to anybody yet. But of course I would like to go out there and play. It's my team," Kanter told the Daily News. "I would love to go out there and help the team win. But I have no idea."
The Knicks and the NBA still have time to sort out the situation. Despite not having a passport, Kanter has been able to make arrangements to play for the Knicks in Toronto.
