Mets Hire New Assistant GM To Oversee Analytics

The Mets have a new analytics guru in their front office, hiring Adam Guttridge as assistant general manager of systematic development, WFAN baseball insider Jon Heyman reported Tuesday.

Guttridge is the co-founder of NEIFI, a baseball analytics company, and he's worked as an independent consultant to major league teams. Among his career accomplishments, he co-developed an award-winning automated prospect model.

He has previously served as the Milwaukee Breweres' manager of baseball research and development, and he began his career with the Colorado Rockies in 2005.

Guttridge has taught courses on baseball analytics and sports statistics at New York University and The School of The New York Times.
