Make it a pair of high school outfielders now officially Mets, as the team announced Thursday night that they have signed first-round pick Pete Crow-Armstrong.
Terms of the deal were not released by the team, but MLB.com reports that it was for the full slot value of $3.36 million dollars.
Crow-Armstrong, 18, was the No. 19 overall pick of the draft out of Harvard-Westlake High School in Los Angeles, and was ranked by Baseball America as the 17th best prospect in the draft. You can read more about Crow-Armstrong’s now-complete amateur career in our original draft profile.
The announcement of Crow-Armstrong’s signing comes hours after the team officially announced the signing of second-round compensation pick Isaiah Greene, and according to MLB.com, RHP J.T. Ginn, the Mets’ actual second-round pick, is the only member of their draft class left unsigned.
Also per numbers reported by MLB.com, the team has roughly $2.7 million left in its draft bonus allocation pool to sign Ginn, whose slot value at the No. 52 selection overall is $1.4 million.
