New Jets general manager Joe Douglas attempted to address arguably his team's biggest weakness Wednesday, acquiring cornerback Nate Hairston from the Indianapolis Colts.

The Jets are sending a sixth-round draft pick in 2020 to the Colts for Hairston, 25. The deal is pending a physical.

Indianapolis drafted Hairston in the fifth round in 2017 out of Temple. In his two years with the Colts, he played in 27 games, making 11 starts, and registered 65 tackles, one interception, six passes defensed, two sacks and one safety.

The Jets' top cornerback, Trumaine Johnson, is coming off a disappointing season and is dealing with a hamstring injury. Darryl Roberts is listed as the starter opposite Johnson. Others in the mix at cornerback include former Falcon Brian Poole and undrafted rookie Kyron Brown.
