Former Redskins quarterback Colt McCoy agreed to a deal to join the Giants, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.

The Giants have yet to disclose the terms of McCoy's deal but reports indicate McCoy earn $2.25 million with $1.5 million  guaranteed on a one-year deal.

McCoy will compete with fourth-year QB Alex Tanney, who had his option picked up by the Giants in January, for the backup role. McCoy, a third round pick in 2010, will enter his 10th season in the NFL.

He spent the past five seasons with the Washington Redskins, starting in seven games. In 2019, McCoy lost in his only start. He threw one interception and lost two fumbles in the Week 5 loss to the New England Patriots. The 33-year-old ultimately relinquished the starting job to rookie Dwayne Haskins.

McCoy earned just over $3 million with Washington last season.

The Giants previously sought to add a veteran QB following Eli Manning's retirement at the end of last season. According to SNY's Ralph Vacchiano, New York made a contract offer to Chiefs free-agent quarterback Matt Moore.

Moore, who spent last season with Kansas City and QB Patrick Mahomes, hasn't decided which team he'd play for next season. He reportedly rebuffed the Giants' offer, which led New York's brass to pursue the former University of Texas standout.
