A few days after the Mets designated him for assignment, Matt Harvey is reportedly drawing some interest on the trading block from several teams.

The Mets have until Saturday to release or trade the 29-year-old right-hander.

On Monday night, SNY's Andy Martino wrote on Twitter that the San Francisco Giants are in the mix for the pitcher, stating the team has "very strong" interest in Harvey after losing starting pitcher Johnny Cueto for six weeks.

Martino reported that the Cincinnati Reds are also looking into a possible trade for the 6-foot-4 pitcher.

The Texas Rangers are another team that has shown "mild" interest in Harvey, MLB Network's Jon Morosi reported Monday. Martino more or less confirmed that report, saying that Rangers assistant pitching coach Dan Warthen has encouraged Texas' front office to pursue Harvey, whom he coached from 2012 until last season.

Martino reported that the Seattle Mariners also have some interest in Harvey, and that the Baltimore Orioles and New York Yankees do not appear to be in the mix.

Despite multiple teams looking into possible trades for the 29-year-old, no deal was close as of Monday night. However, the Mets remain optimistic that they can find a trade partner before Saturday's deadline.

The Mets shouldn't expect much in return for Harvey, who has a 7.00 ERA and $5.6 million salary, if they can trade him at all.

General manager Sandy Alderson announced Friday that Harvey was being designated for assignment after the pitcher rejected a demotion to the minor leagues. The move was officially made Saturday.

Harvey was once the Mets' brightest young star and enjoyed successful seasons in 2013 and 2015. But he has struggled mightily over the past three seasons, going 9-17 with a 5.78 ERA. The Mets moved him from the starting rotation to the bullpen last month before unsuccessfully trying to send him down to the minor leagues.
