It looks like the Giants are going to try their luck with a player who made waves in the XFL.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Giants are signing Dravon Askew-Henry, a defensive back who was playing for the local New York Guardians in the new domestic football league.
Rapoport is reporting that Askew-Henry has signed a two-year deal with the team. XFL players have been permitted to sign with NFL clubs since Monday.
The cornerback also has another local connection. One of his cousins by marriage is none other than former Jets CB Darrelle Revis.
The XFL season was cancelled because of the coronavirus, but there was a funny incident involving Askew-Henry before it came to a premature end. After being flagged, Askew-Henry caught the flag that was thrown at him and tossed it back at the referee, thus earning another penalty.
