NEW YORK (WFAN) -- It's a done deal: Robinson Cano and Edwin Diaz are now Mets.
The Mets and Mariners finalized a trade Saturday night that sends Cano, an eight-time All-Star second baseman, and Diaz, a 24-year-old All-Star closer, as well as $20 million to New York, WFAN baseball insider Jon Heyman confirmed. The Mets are giving up outfielder Jay Bruce, reliever Anthony Swarzak and three prospects -- outfielder Jarred Kelenic and pitchers Justin Dunn and Gerson Bautista. The agreement is pending physicals.
It's the first big move for the Mets under agent-turned-general manager Brodie Van Wagenen, who used to represent Cano.
The rebuilding Mariners had been seeking to rid themselves of as much of the five years and $120 million remaining on Cano's contract as possible.

Cano, 36, was suspended for 80 games last season for PEDs. He hit .303 with 10 home runs and 50 RBIs in 80 games.
After spending the first nine seasons of his career with the Yankees, Cano signed a 10-year, $240 million contract with the Mariners in December 2013, a deal that runs through his age-40 season.
Over his 14-year career, the eight-time All-Star has a .304 average, 2,470 hits, 311 home runs and 1,233 RBIs.
Diaz had a 1.96 ERA and an MLB-leading 57 saves last season. The Puerto Rican right-hander, who was selected to his first All-Star Game in 2018, is under team control through 2022.

Bruce, 31, has two years and $26 million remaining on the three-year deal he signed in his return to the Mets in January. In 94 games last season, the three-time All-Star, who saw time in right field and at first base, hit .223 with nine home runs and 37 RBIs. 2018 was Bruce's second stint with the Mets. He was acquired in a 2016 deadline trade with Cincinnati and then dealt to Cleveland a year later.
Swarzak is due $8 million this season in the final year of his two-year contract. The 33-year-old right-hander appeared in 29 games and had a 6.15 ERA in 2018.
The Mets drafted Kelenic with the sixth overall pick out of Waukesha High School in Wisconsin in June's draft. The 6-foot-1, 194-pound outfielder hit .286 with six homers in 56 rookie league games last season. The 19-year-old is the Mets' third-ranked prospect, according to MLB Pipeline.
Dunn, 23, was selected with the 19th overall pick in 2016 out of Boston College. The 6-foot-2 right-hander split 2018 between High-A St. Lucie and Double-A Binghamton, starting 24 games and going 8-8 with a 3.59 ERA. MLB Pipeline ranks him as the Mets' fourth-best prospect.
Bautista, a 23-year-old relief pitcher acquired in the 2017 trade that sent Addison Reed to the Red Sox, appeared in five games for the Mets last season, going 0-1 with a 12.46 ERA. The Dominican right-hander had a 5.22 ERA and three saves in 31 appearances with Triple-A Las Vegas in 2018.
