Mets great Ron Darling on Tuesday night disputed a report that said he is interested in the team's general manager job.
"I don't (have interest)," the SNY analyst said during the broadcast of the Mets' game against the Atlanta Braves. "I have three jobs. I work for three different networks. I don't have time to work as a general manager nor do I have probably the skills to do it."

The Daily News' Bob Raissman reported Tuesday that Darling told him he was intrigued by the idea. The comments came after the New York Post's Joel Sherman floated Darling as a possible outside-the-box candidate for the job.
"I would be disingenuous if I didn't say that if someone wants to sit down with me and talk about putting a team together, I would absolutely take that meeting," the former Mets pitcher told Raissman.
"I know a lot of things would have to change with my family to take that task on, but everyone who loves the game wants a chance to put a team together, and I'm no different," Darling added. "I would prefer that to managing a team. The day-to-day stuff (involved in managing) would not be my favorite. But the behind the scenes stuff… I would be more qualified for those personal relationships away from the field."

General manager Sandy Alderson has been on medical leave since June while he focuses on his battle with cancer. He is not expected to return next season.
Assistant general manager John Ricco and special assistants to the GM JP Ricciardi and Omar Minaya have been splitting the duties in running the franchise's baseball operations in Alderson's absence.
The Mets are 73-84 with five games to play this season.
