Saquon Barkley vs. Sam Darnold was a debate many Giants fans have – and some still do – over who the team should have taken with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.
Well, apparently the two have joined forces – at least when it comes to training.
A video posted on Instagram Wednesday by quarterback trainer Devin Quinn showed the back-to-back draft picks running some drills together on a field at UCLA.
Darnold had the best game of his collegiate career when he threw for 453 yards and five touchdowns in USC’s 52-49 victory over Penn State.
Barkley wasn’t too shabby, either, racking up 249 yards from scrimmage and three touchdowns.
Barkley has had more immediate success in the NFL, winning the Offensive Rookie of the Year Award in 2017 while Darnold has shown flashes of his potential – when he’s healthy.
The 2020 season will be a pivotal season in Darnold’s development while Barkley hopes the Giants can start turning their losing ways around as he makes his case for a contract extension with Big Blue.
