Shannon Sharpe spent 14 seasons in the NFL, winning three Super Bowls in that time. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2011. It's safe to say he knows the league fairly well.
On Sunday, the New England Patriots and Los Angeles Rams will play Super Bowl LIII in Atlanta. The Patriots triumvirate of Tom Brady, Bill Belichick, and Robert Kraft are looking for their sixth championship of the century, while the Rams are looking for their first since moving from St. Louis.
On Thursday, Sharpe joined Mike Francesa on WFAN from Radio Row in Atlanta. The two spoke about the Super Bowl and various other topics from the world of football. Sharpe thinks Los Angeles will get the job done in the big game.
"I'm going to take the Rams in a close ballgame," said Sharpe. "The Patriots always play one-score games … they could be 8-0, they could be 0-8."

Sharpe pointed out that the Rams would need to muster better defensive performances than the ones that the Chargers and Chiefs had previously put forward against New England.
"The first thing you have to do is you have to stop their run. The Chargers couldn't stop the run, the Chiefs couldn't stop the run, so they let Brady have whatever he wanted. 'You want to run it this time, okay fine. You want to throw it this time, fine.' You can't do that."
