It looks like "World Wide Wes" won't join Leon Rose in the Knicks' front office after all.
Immediately after reports surfaced last week that Rose, a player agent, will be named the team's new president of basketball operations, William Wesley was linked to the Knicks as well. Wesley is a longtime NBA power broker who was expected to follow Rose, his business partner, to New York.
But according to The Athletic's Shams Charania, who cited league sources, Wesley's other business ventures make a formal role with the Knicks unlikely. The Knicks and Rose had internal discussions about a role, the report said.
The Knicks have not yet announced the hiring of Rose, who is reportedly going through the process of decertification as an agent. With the Creative Artists Agency, Rose's client list includes Carmelo Anthony, Devin Booker, Joel Embiid, Chris Paul and Karl-Anthony Towns. He was also LeBron James' agent from 2005-12.
