Forbes released its list of the World's 50 most valuable sports teams of 2019 on Monday, and six New York teams are represented in the annual rankings.
The Yankees rank second overall with a value of $4.6 billion, trailing the Dallas Cowboys ($5 billion), who have been dubbed as the most valuable sports team in every year since 2016. However, the Yankees continue to maintain their throne over the rest of MLB, leading all baseball clubs for yet another year.
The New York Giants finished deadlocked for tenth place with the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Giants are valued at $3.3 billion -- the third-highest among NFL teams.
Sam Darnold's first year with Gang Green proved to be a financial success. The Jets finished in 21st place, maintaining the same spot from 2018 while earning 4% growth over the past year.
Despite missing out on the postseason for the sixth consecutive season, the New York Knicks are the most valuable NBA team. Valued at $4 billion, the Knicks jump to fifth place after finishing seventh in 2018. Meanwhile, the Brooklyn Nets fell one spot to No. 37.
The Mets are valued at $2.3 billion, the lowest-ranked New York team to appear inside the top 50. While ranked in 38th place, the Mets climbed five spots to become the MLB's sixth-most valued franchise.
