An injury has forced the Yankees to make a change on the mound for their Monday night home against the Baltimore Orioles.
Luis Cessa will get the start, replacing Jonathan Loaisiga, who was placed on the 10-day injured list with a right shoulder strain, the team announced.
The Yankees have recalled right-hander Chance Adams from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
It's unclear when Loaisiga's injury occurred. The right-hander struggled in his last start, allowing four runs and six hits over four innings Wednesday night against the Seattle Mariners.
Meanwhile, the Yankees have activated center fielder Aaron Hicks from the IL. He is leading off for the Yankees on Monday night. His IL stint has been retroactively dated to May 10.
Hicks has not played yet this season after suffering a back injury during a spring training game.
The Yankees sent down Mike Tauchman to make room on the roster for Hicks, who batted .248 with 27 home runs and 79 RBIs last season.
Rain has pounded the city for much of Monday, but the Yankees said they expect to play tonight's game and are opening gates on time at 5 p.m.
