MLB has announced that they will allow players to wear specific patches on their Opening Day jerseys to promote certain social justice messages.

The Yankees, in addition, will have another patch on their jerseys that will last the entire season: one to honor late Yankees General Partner and Co-Chairperson Hank Steinbrenner.

The Yankees will wear the patch on the left sleeves of their jerseys all season, and the team provided a photo of what it will look like on their road jerseys, which they will wear on opening day:

Henry G. Steinbrenner passed away in April 14 at his home in Clearwater, Florida, after a battle with a longstanding health issue. He was 63, the oldest of George and Joan Steinbrenner’s four children (current Yankees Chairman and Managing General Partner, Hal, is the youngest).
