Noah Syndergaard apparently isn’t going anywhere.
According to The New York Post’s Joel Sherman, the Mets have pulled Syndergaard from the trade market. The Mets right-hander made a strong case to remain in New York following Tuesday night’s 11-strikeout performance against the White Sox.
SNY confirmed Sherman's reporting.
Syndergaard had recently been linked to the San Diego Padres, who have long been interested in acquiring the 26-year-old.
In November 2018, The Athletic’s
Ken Rosenthal mentioned the Padres were interested in acquiring Syndergaard. As the trade deadline approached, it appeared that the Mets were set on dealing Syndergaard, whose value grew throughout the season. The Padres reportedly made a “strong offer” for Syndergaard, who is 7-5 on the season, via SNY’s Andy Martino.
Padres made what they consider to be a strong offer for Syndergaard involving major league players, but still can’t find common ground. Teams have been talking NS for like 8 months and they’re not there yet.

July 30, 2019 On July 30, USA Today’s Bob Nightengale reported that discussions between the Padres and Mets were “completely dormant.” It appeared less likely that the Mets, who were once rumored to strongly be considering trading Syndergaard, will keep him under control for the remainder of the season.
The San Diego Padres' trade talks with the #Mets for Noah Syndergaard are completely dormant, officials say.

July 31, 2019 DIAZ ON THE MOVE?
Unlike Syndergaard, Edwin Diaz didn’t do the Mets any favors with his performance Tuesday night.
Diaz blew his save opportunity courtesy of Tim Anderson’s sacrifice fly in the bottom of the ninth. The debacle marks Diaz’s fifth blown save of the season, diminishing any hope the Mets had at trading the closer for a reasonable return.
According to WFAN baseball insider Jon Heyman, the Red Sox are “not overly impressed” by Diaz heading into the deadline.
Red Sox not overly impressed by the recent Edwin Diaz. Lot of teams need pen help but the timing makes it tough for a Diaz deal. Mets would have to have completely lost faith to trade him now.

July 31, 2019 Diaz is 1-6 with a 5.05 ERA this season. But his 23 saves, ranked seventh among National League pitchers, consistently made him an interesting option for teams in desperate need of help in the bullpen.
YANKEES’ REUNION?
Shane Greene’s time as a New York Yankee was brief. He finished with a 5-4 record during his rookie campaign with New York in 2014, but was traded following the season in a three-team deal, which resulted in the Yankees acquiring Didi Gregorius.
The Yankees were reportedly looking to reacquire the reliever. Greene’s 22 saves for the Tigers are fourth-best in the American League, earning him All-Star honors in the process. However, Greene is heading to the Atlanta Braves, according to The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal.
#Braves close to acquiring Shane Greene from the #Tigers, source tells The Athletic.

July 31, 2019 There are a lot of indications that the Yankees might be shifting their focus from the starting rotation to their bullpen with Greene as the main focus, according to SNY’s Andy Martino.
There are a lot of indications that Yankees will not add a starter today, maybe a reliever like Shane Greene. Folks not sure whether to believe them when they say the can stand pat. Mixed opinions on if they’re in on Wheeler, depending on who you talk to.

July 31, 2019 Dellin Betances is still on the injured list, so Greene could have become a viable option in the bullpen, which has the sixth-lowest ERA in the majors. The Yankees are also considering Blue Jays' reliever Ken Giles.
Giles holds a 1.42 ERA, recording 14 saves in his second year with the Blue Jays. He's set to become an unrestricted free agent following the 2020 season.
Yankees are considering Ken Giles. He’s had fantastic year but missed a few days with an elbow issue.

July 31, 2019 TEAMS INQURING ABOUT WHEELER
The Zack Wheeler market is heating up.
The Mets are recieving calls for the pitcher from upward of nine teams, according to the New York Post's Joel Sherman. There have been numerous teams that have been linked to Wheeler including the Yankees, Athletics, Braves, Brewers and Rays. The Houston Astros have reportedly been aggressive in discussions to acquire Wheeler to bolster their potential playoff rotation.
#Mets still fielding calls from 9 teams on Wheeler. They have a price. If met, he will be traded. There remains a decent chance of that.
