Shurmur believes that the Giants are ready to move on from the Odell Beckham ESPN interview.

"I think it's taken care of," Shurmur said. "I really think it's time to move on from it. We have a way we do business here behind the scenes. Our players, our coaches, everybody in our organization -- there's accountability and there's a way that you function. When it doesn't play out that way, we address it. I feel like we've moved on. I feel like we've made changes to the locker room that will keep it from kind of collapsing in the way that it did last year. A lot of it is because of the people in the locker room. I really feel good about group and how they're preparing to move forward to Philadelphia. We bit the head off the snake so to speak."

Beckham appeared to question the Giants' heart and vented frustrations about the offense during the ESPN interview.

"How come we can't throw the ball for more than 20 yards? How come we don't attempt or try to throw the ball for more than 20 yards?" Beckham said. "Those are questions that we have to figure out, but for now I would say it's our heart, it's our energy. It's what we bring when we line up before the game, all of that. It counts."

The Giants waived offensive tackle Ereck Flowers on Tuesday.

"It was just time to move on," Shurmur said. "I really think in the case of Ereck Flowers a change of scenery will do him good. We felt good about the direction that Chad Wheeler has gone. We've got Brian Mihalik that we're gonna use as our third tackle."

The Giants are currently preparing for a big game on Thursday night against the 2-3 Philadelphia Eagles.

"I see the same team that won a Super Bowl in terms of their quarterback, how they function on offense," Shurmur said. "I see the same team schematically on defense. Blocking that front four is a real bugger. I think that's where it starts for them. Really, it's the front eight because they roll them like a hockey line. And so those are the challenges. I think it's the quarterback on offense that presents the biggest challenge because I think he's a terrific player and some of his biggest plays are plays that are off schedule when you've sort of got him stopped. Then, obviously being able to score points against that defense -- which starts by blocking their front."
