The Giants raised some eyebrows last week when it was reported that the team was listening to offers for star safety Landon Collins prior to the trade deadline.
Big Blue was reportedly telling teams around the league it would take at least a second round pick to pry the young safety away. When no team offered more than a third round pick, New York decided to hold on to Collins, whose contract runs out at the end of the season.

Despite the team exploring the possibility of trading its best defensive player, it now appears as if Collins will don the blue and white for at least one more season, if not more.
The Giants plan on placing the franchise tag on the Pro Bowl safety if the team cannot sign him to a long-term extension first, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The 24-year-old leads the team with 62 tackles through the first eight games of the season, his fourth with New York since being an early second round pick in 2015.
Collins has made the Pro Bowl in each of the last two seasons, in addition to being named a First-team All-Pro in 2016.
