According to Manish Mehta of the NY Daily News, the Jets have reached out to the Steelers to express interest in trading for disgruntled All-Pro running back Le'Veon Bell.
Bell held out all of training camp and has held out the first three weeks of the regular season. Bell is missing out on $855,000 for every game missed this season. The Jets haven't made a concrete offer yet, but believe the Steelers are now serious about moving their dynamic running back.

Bell has not yet signed his $14.5 million franchise tag tender. He would essentially be a rental this season for any team that would trade for him. He can not be given a multi-year deal until after the 2018 season. He is looking for a deal upwards of $15 million-plus per season. The NFL trade deadline is Oct. 30.
The question for the Jets is if they would give up likely a 1st round pick to get him or would they just wait until he's a free agent in the offseason. Right now, they have paired Isaiah Crowell and Bilal Powell in the backfield. They had a strong Week 1 against the Lions, but have not done much on the ground since.
