NFL free agency may not officially start until next week, but that doesn't mean the Jets are necessarily going to wait until then to make a move.
Cornerback Kevin Johnson will be flying in to visit the Jets Friday night, according to a report from the Houston Chronicle's Aaron Wilson.
Johnson was released by the Texans earlier in the week, meaning he is free to sign with a new team prior to the start of free agency.

The 2015 first-round pick has already met with the Browns and Bills this week, and the Panthers also reportedly have interest in the veteran corner.
Johnson appeared in only one game during the 2018 season, as a concussion suffered in Week 1 ended his season prematurely.
In 12 games in 2017, the 6-foot-0 corner finished with 45 total tackles and two passes defended.
Johnson has one career interception in 35 games spanning four seasons, having missed 29 games due to various injuries.
New York signed Trumaine Johnson to a big contract last offseason, but did not get nearly the level of production the team was hoping for. While Johnson will be back with the team in 2019, the Jets' other corners, Morris Claiborne and Buster Skrine, are both set to hit the open market next week, leaving cornerback as a position of need for Gang Green.
