The Jets have numerous holes to fill throughout the roster this offseason, one of which is the defensive line.
Other than Leonard Williams, who is entering the final year of his contract, New York does not have much depth up front on the defensive side of the ball.
GM Mike Maccagnan appears ready to address this need in free agency, as the Jets have already begun to show interest in pass rushers Dante Fowler, Ezekiel Ansah and Preston Smith, according to ESPN's Rich Cimini.

Fowler split his time between the Jaguars and Rams in 2018, finishing the year with 30 total tackles, four sacks and two forced fumbles.
The third overall pick in the 2015 draft was traded to the Rams for a third and fifth round pick. The 24-year-old picked up an additional 1.5 sacks during Los Angeles' postseason run to the Super Bowl.
Ansah is coming off an injury-plagued season that saw him register just four sacks in seven games. However, the 29-year-old has two double-digit sack campaigns under his belt, finishing with 12 sacks in 2017 and 14.5 sacks in 2015.
The one-time Pro Bowler was taken with the fifth overall pick by the Lions in the 2013 NFL Draft, and has spent his entire six-year career in Detroit.
Smith is less of a pure pass rusher as Fowler and Ansah, but would provide the Jets with more versatility at the position.

The 6-foot-5 outside linebacker racked up 52 total tackles, four sacks, a fumble recovery and an interception in 16 games for the Redskins this past season.
Smith has yet to miss a game in his four-year NFL career, picking up 24.5 sacks, five forced fumbles and four interceptions along the way. The 26-year-old was taken in the second round of the 2015 draft by Washington.
Whether or not the Jets land one of these veterans in free agency, New York will strongly consider using its first round pick (third overall) in this year's draft on one of the premier pass rushers.
