It appears as if the Mets may have found their guy.
According to multiple reports, New York has turned its focus towards Brodie Van Wagenen for the team's open general manager position.
A final decision has not been made, nor has an agreement between Van Wagenen and the Mets been reached, but the super agent is now the overwhelming favorite to be named New York's new leader in the front office.
Van Wagenen is the co-head of the CAA agency's baseball division, and was certainly the most out-of-the-box candidate to receive a second interview. His client list includes Mets players Yoenis Cespedes, Jacob deGrom, Todd Frazier and minor leaguer Tim Tebow.

The decision reportedly came down to Van Wagenen and Chaim Bloom.
First hired as an intern, Bloom has been with Tampa Bay for 14 years and was promoted to VP of baseball operations in November 2016. The Yale graduate, along with GM Erik Neander, oversee all functions within baseball operations. The Rays are coming off a surprising 90-72 season.
Milwaukee Brewers' special advisor Doug Melvin was the third finalist for the position, but was eliminated from contention earlier in the week.
The Mets are not allowed to announce its hiring on the same day of a World Series game. With Games 3-5 starting tonight and continuing through the weekend, New York may have to wait until Monday to make the announcement official.
