While MLB free agency has yet to truly kick off, the latest development indicates the Bronx Bombers could indeed look to sign the superstar infielder.

New York has been seeking background information on Machado, with manager Aaron Boone, members of the front office along with team scouts among those making calls around the league on the 26-year-old, according to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.
Machado hit .297/.367/.538 with 37 home runs, 35 doubles, 14 stolen bases and 107 RBI in 162 games with the Baltimore Orioles and Los Angeles Dodgers this past season while spending time at both third base and shortstop.
The star free agent is reportedly seeking a contract worth more than $300 million for 10 years.
New York currently has Miguel Andujar at third base and Gleyber Torres at shortstop while Didi Gregorius recovers from Tommy John surgery, which is expected to keep him sidelined for the first few months of the 2019 season.
