WrestleMania 35 is finally here.
The biggest event on the WWE calendar is set to kick off Sunday night at MetLife Stadium, where it returns to East Rutherford, New Jersey for the eighth time in its 35-year history.
Roman Reigns is set to take on Drew McIntyre Sunday, and before entering the ring, Reigns stopped by the WFAN studios to chat with Mike Francesa on the upcoming festivities.
"This is what we work towards all year long," Reigns said on "Mike's On" about WrestleMania. "We put on our television show year-round. 52 weeks a year. We do a lot of hard work, and we do a lot of travel. We hit every corner of the globe..
"We work hard. I think that's one of the core ingredients you need is passion. You have to have people that want to get better..."
Reigns was forced to step away from the ring for a few months last October after he revealed that his leukemia had returned after 11 years of privately battling it and being in remission.
The 33-year-old was out of professional wrestling for just over four months before returning to WWE Raw in February, where he announced that his leukemia was once again in remission.
WrestleMania 35 will be Reigns' first time back fighting in single's competition, and Reigns did not hold back his excitement about getting back into the action.
"It's a huge deal. This is a big test for us..." Reigns told Francesa Friday. "As soon as I was physically cleared to train again and do some cardio, I was back in it. Just because once I felt the progress, I knew, 'Okay, if we just stick to the system, and we continue to do what we're doing, things will be better and I will have another opportunity.' I really made a huge effort...
"It's been a crazy six months, but as soon as I was able to get physical again, it was really nice to be able to get back into the weight room and sweat again. It was something that I really missed."
