Unfortunately for Giants fans, Saquon Barkley's segment on WFAN's Moose & Maggie Show on Wednesday was cut short, but in the limited time Saquon was on-air, he of course dished on the philosophy of the coaching staff, and how even Saquon isn't above running a lap or two.
"I view this as if we want to be great and special, you have to come in and be ready to work and can't mess up the little things. You have to be disciplined, and if you make a mistake, you have to take a lap," Barkley said. "We don't view anyone higher than anyone else; we're all on the same platform, we're all one team trying to get better."
Barkley will be a focal point of Jason Garrett's offense, and while he hasn't really picked Ezekiel Elliott's brain, he knows from watching Zeke and Dallas over the past two years just what kind of special player a quality running back can be in Garrett's offense.
"I knew great things would be coming from coach Garrett, and seeing his offense before definitely helped. He's helped everyone on our offense get better already," Barkley said. "Me, I'm just trying to come out and get better every day, attack every single game with the mindset of whatever it takes to win. I have to try to be a better leader and a better person for the team."
Because of Nate Solder's opt-out, Barkley will be running behind a rookie left tackle in first-round pick Andrew Thomas – but again, no worries from Saquon.
"(Thomas) has come in and worked hard at getting better every day – the whole offensive line is coming together as a unit, and every day we're trying to get as ready as we can for Week 1," Barkley said.
