St. John's went into the half with a 42-33 lead. The rest got ugly for the Johnnies. DePaul stormed back in the second half on Senior Day, led by senior Max Strus, who dropped 43 points to lead them to a 92-83 win over the Red Storm.

It's been a rough week for Chris Mullins' squad, who now falls to 8-9 in Big East play and 20-10 on the season. This comes after a 84-73 loss to Xavier at home Thursday. The Red Storm close the regular season out at Xavier next Saturday before the Big East Tournament begins.

The Blue Demons are now 2-0 against St. John's this season, good for a third of their six wins in the Big East (6-10). They improved to 14-13 on the season and snapped a four-game losing streak.

Shamorie Ponds had 29 points for the Red Storm, who are struggling down the stretch. They have now lost three of their last four games. They are still considered to be one of the final teams to get an at-large big, but they are putting themselves in a tough position. A win over Xavier next weekend would give them a sigh of relief going into the Big East Tournament.
