Gleyber Torres hit home run number 10 in the Yankees' 7-4 win over the Detroit Tigers in the first game of their day-night doubleheader Monday, and in game two he will debut at shortstop, giving Didi Gregorius the night off.
Having come up as a natural shortstop in the minors, Aaron Boone isn't questioning the move whatsoever. "Him moving over there, you're not reaching at all,'' Boone said. "Frankly, it's more of a natural spot for him."
The Yankees also reinstated Adam Warren from the 10-day disabled list ahead of Game 2 with the Tigers, while Tommy Kahnle was optioned to Triple-A.
