As far as Brandon Drury is concerned, Monday marked good and bad news for the 25-year-old.

The good news is that the Yankees reinstated Drury from the 10-day disabled list. The bad news is that he was optioned and assigned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, as his replacement, Miguel Andujar, will remain the Yankees starting third baseman.

Today, the Yankees returned INF/OF Brandon Drury from his rehab assignment, reinstated him from the 10-day disabled list and optioned him to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Drury was placed on the DL April 7 because of migraines and blurred vision stemming from an irritated nerve between his head and neck. According to an ESPN report, Drury batted .315 with two home runs and seven RBIs in 67 plate appearances over his 20-day rehab stint.

But Andujuar has been a major spark behind the Yankees’ early season surge, as he’s scorched 37 hits in 135 plate appearances and put up a .967 fielding percentage at third base, which is good for fifth best in the American League.

Optioning Drury to Triple-A and keeping a productive Andujar with the big club is a good problem that the Yankees have.
