The Major League Baseball season is scheduled to kick off in just 10 days, which means that fantasy baseball drafts are going to be fast and furious over the next week and a half.
This year is like no other, so truly, fantasy baseball is going to be more bizarre this year than any other – but with all the uncertainty, what is the best strategy to try to win your league, and what is the best league to join?
Andy Behrens of Yahoo! Sports joined Evan Roberts on Friday’s Joe & Evan Show to weigh in on how the bizarre nature of 2020 will affect the fantasy realm.
“Head-to-head is the most popular format at Yahoo!, and it’s my favorite, too, because it captures everything we like about sports,” Behrens said. “That said, it is maybe not the best format for this particular season, so if you ever wanted to mess around with rotisserie, this might be the year to do it. If we only get through 45 games, or they have to pause at some point, then you can crown a champ.”
And this year, sample size is definitely the name of the game.
“We’re going to have sample size issues, no matter the format – especially in head-to-head, because chances are you’re not going to play everyone in your league,” Behrens said.
