Callaway Discusses Need For Mets' Recent Team Meeting

The Mets made some news earlier this week when it was reported that they had called a team meeting.

Whatever was discussed during the gathering seemed to work, at least for one game, as New York came out on fire and clobbered the Braves Tuesday night by a score of 10-2.

The Mets are hoping that this meeting will get the club moving in the right direction, as the team currently sits three games under .500 and 7.5 games back from Atlanta for the lead in the NL East.

Mets manager Mickey Callaway joined "Mike's On" Wednesday, and among other topics, touched on the importance of the recent team meeting.

"We talked about tons of different subjects, and I think it was a great meeting," Callaway told Mike Francesa. "It got us started off on the right foot after it. But we have to keep it going. We will have these good streaks. We'll have this two or three games that we look good, and then we don't keep it going.

"That's what that meeting was about. To address some of the things that may help us stay out there and be more competitive consistently, because that's what we've been lacking."
